Baltic Craftsmanship

Our region’s furniture manufacturing quality is already well-known internationally among industry professionals, which allows us, as a design studio, the luxury of having our production partners close by.
This designer rug is handmade by Estonian specialists who have nearly 30 years of experience in crafting hand- tufted natural carpets and rugs. Working closely with artist Lina Sasnauskaitė, they guided her through the process of translating her original artwork into the tactile medium of a wool rug.
Each Sunrise rug offers a unique interpretation of the artwork, individually shaped and guided by the human hand and eye.

The wool for this designer rug is sourced from New Zealand. The sheep keeping culture there upholds the highest ethical standards whilst the rights of the animals are protected by the law.

Tested by Institut für Ökologie, Technik und Innovation GmbH (ÖTI) in Austria. The 100% wool rug has been assigned with fire behaviour classification Cfl-s1. This means that this designer rug meets the requirements presented to hotels and other public spaces.

The Artist and the Artwork

The artwork for this designer rug is inspired by our favorite painting by Lina Sasnauskaitė, an artist from Kaunas, Lithuania (Instagram: @linasapnauskaite). Lina primarily works as a book illustrator, author, and designer. In between book projects, she sometimes creates stunning paintings that deeply touches our hearts.
We love how this particular piece evokes a hypnotic flicker of perception – a serene, half-asleep figure shifting back and forth into an idyllic landscape. It offers two perspectives of vision and guarantees at least a couple of philosophical thoughts for you.
We asked Lina to reinterpret this artwork as a rug design, providing an additional way to experience this landscape-like act – through the sense of touch.
Cozy textures, bright melancholy, slow living.
